MANILA – Showbiz personalities joined other netizens in expressing concern over the ongoing crisis brought about by the COVID-19 lockdown.

In a tweet, actress Agot Isidro said, “People are hungry. People are sick. People are dying. And you talk about shooting them dead??? It’s a fracking HEALTH CRISIS!”

Isidro reacted to President’s Duterte’s public address Wednesday evening, calling on state security forces to shoot dead anyone “who creates trouble” during the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

Duterte’s statement came hours after 21 urban poor residents of sitio San Roque, barangay Bagong Pag-Asa were arrested for demanding food-aid from government.

TV personalities also expressed dismay over the National Bureau of Investigation’s summoning of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto for allegedly violating quarantine protocols.
